Meet Nick
A teacher by profession, Nick got promoted out of the classroom years ago. He spent his career working in adult education, in charge of teaching and learning and head of Quality and Programme Development at City Lit, Europe's largest college for adults aged 19-90. City Lit offers more than 5000 different courses, including many in culture, performing and creative arts.
City Lit is probably the biggest college offering this variety of adult education in the world. The teachers are world class, however none of them were teachers to begin with - Nick and his team recruited philosophers, historians, musicians, singers, painters, jewellery makers, potters, writers, poets, actors, and of course, dancers, and gave them the skills to be great teachers too. They became 'teacher practitioners’. |
Nick's vast experience in adult education, programme planning, and teacher training is invaluable, and we are excited to have him as a guest speaker at Bluesology 2019. Here's a note from Nick...
"The organisers of Bluesology think I have something useful to share and discuss with you. Come and find out. Just don’t ask me to dance!"
